Results so far.
In terms of the profiles, I noticed that when you first sign in you receive several emails and winks and views, but with time these decrease and become quite linear. match.com is definitely the biggest site with the most users, but not a free service, which limits my results as I can’t see the emails. datingdirect.com has been by far the best service, with the most views and emails. It is a free service and has the best interface. loopylove.com is not even worth mentioning.
I also sent out a questionnaire and about 40 people have responded. These are the results so far:
What I have realized is that not many people use online dating services and would prefer not to. Those who have, have not found love. So it proves my original hypothesis that online dating is not the best way to find love, but I understand that it can be effective when you are looking for just fun, or in others words to get laid. So how does one find love? How can technology help bring people together? Can technology bring people together or do we need to go back to old fashion ways?
